Went Drag Racing Last Night!!! Better Results.

if you run a search on me, youll see Ive started a couple of threads about me drag racing. Im moving back to Iowa where there isnt a track for hours so last night was probably my last time in a long time drag racing.

This time I reset the ECU right at the track by pulling the room fuse.

1st Run- 15.6 @91.9mph

2nd Run- 15.4@91.9mph

3rd Run- 15.1@90.9 mph

The times progressively got faster as the ECU figured out what the hell it was doing. I did the same launch on all three. 7K clutch dump with about 22psi in the rear tires. It would spin all the way through 1st at grab at 7K at 35mph (near redline) then off I was. All three 60' times were 2.3XX. The trap speeds are worring me, the fastest Ive ever trapped this car was 92 mph. It feels like a slight loss of power in the higher rpm range, may just be the heat (it was 90 degrees out) or my ECU being quirky, but its still worring me.

I know this car needs coils, the last time I replaced them was at 20K miles and I have 67K on it now, so Im hoping its the coils. When I get back to Iowa, Im going to be working at the Mazda dealer I used to work at so Ill figure out whats up with my car.

Anyways, let me know what you think.

those are the times of my worst runs. my 60 foots were all 2.2 and less though. also, i got a 2.00 60' with a 4k feather.

use OE coils when you change them. you'll knock a half second off your time with a good run.

yea, IMHO I still cant believe I have 47K on OEM coils with the way I drive

Also, I drive a GT (sunroof, bose, etc), and I had my whole system in the trunk, and I weigh 250. So my 2960 lb rx8 was at like 3500
