Exclamation wheel key lock question

So my dumb self left my lug key on the wheel lock and while I was driving it fell off. Is it possible for me to just go to the stealership and get a new key? Are they all the same key? It is a 04 8 with the oem locks.

There may be a postcard in your owners manual folder or your glove box for ordering a replacement key. There are several different keys, so the dealer may or may not be able to get you one without the card. In any case, you will have to register with McGard before ordering a new replacement key. If you registered your key with McGard when you bought the car, all you need to do is mail in the order card or go to the McGard web site (www.mcgard.com) and order a replacement key. Might as well order two keys while you're at it--one to keep in the car and one to keep in your garage tool box.

If you can't do any of that, have the dealer or a wheel/tire shop remove the locks and order a new set from McGard. Occasionally, a set of these locks and key show up on eBay for a reasonable price. Good luck!

My card was in the glove compartment because I managed to strip my key, and couldnt' get the lock off...then I ordered a new one and stripped that on the first use, so I had mazda drill the others off. My advice would be to take off the locks and use regular nuts
