Car Transporters

The car needs to be transported from Mazsport, in FL, to NY, pretty soon.

Any suggestions as to who to use or who not to use?

I've been searching the net, there seem to be quite a few out there, so I was looking for anyone who's had some experience.

make sure you do some research before you pay someone to ship your car. There are a lot of auto shippers that are run by brokers who will take your money and then only ship your car when their transport is full. This could take you weeks or months past your scheduled pick up date. The usual excuse is the truck is broken down or delayed. If you start in the phone book you may find that the same people are answering the phone even under different company names. This is very common as the brokers will either be associated with several companies or one company is using multiple names.

I found this all out a year ago in my move from CT to AZ. I recommend only using a company who has positive reviews in the Better business Bureau, BBB.com. Additionally I would put the whole amount on a credit card. I filled a refund through AmEx and they had clearly seen this before and processed it quickly.

If I can remember Boston Based company i used I'll post their name. They were very good and it took a week for my cross-country move. It was 1400 per 2 axle vehicle last June.

Hope this helps, good luck!

yea.....i used plycon....it cost me 2k RT....and that was competitive with most others...of course, this is a closed trailer with elevator, etc....

you can ship much cheaper in an open trailer if you dont care what happens to the car...ie damage to the body from the elements...or its not lowered...
there has to be a 6in clearance for the open trailers...

Check with Car Max and get the name of their transporters........they ship cross country for $600 to $700.

Course it may be employees doing the shipping/driving, and if it is some flatbed outfit they may get the volume discount.
