extended warranty

Well i got this notice in the mail today about mazda extending the warranty on all 8s to 96months/100,00miles. This maybe old to soome but its new to me. I mean I read here that they were pushed it to 60k miles but not this high. Anyhow, what is mazda going to do for people who already purchased the extended warranty? Mine is bumper-bumper and this free extension for the rotary only. Can I expext mazda to compensate somewhat or am I SOL? Right now I feel like they're gonna say 'sorry about your luck' so Im pretty ticked off. I hope I dont get screwed. I mean the whole reason I purchased the warrant was for possible engine problems.

You could always feel comfortable in the fact that you are still under warranty if something were to happen not in the extended warranty. The new 8 year extended warranty just covers Rotary Engine Core, Rotary Housing and Internal Parts, Internal Seals and Gaskets. That still leaves a lot out in the bumper to bumper category I'd say.

Though you may have bought the warranty originally for the engine part you could now at least know it's covering everything else.

Or, you know, you could just feel like you're now SOL. Either or.

well, at least youre worried about your warranties as opposed to something actually wrong with your engine so it could be worse

Yup... I'm at 65k and would love to have bumper to bumper still. Looks like the new extension doesnt cover much as I've heard stories on the board of people still being charged thousands $ to get an engine replaced because of other parts that need to go with it.

You're lucky IMHO.

I guess I am. I had my rear dif replaced last summer and theres still a chance I could need a engine replacement so I may get my moneys worth.

YOu are talking about wear and tear items, not warranty items...

That said, you can cancel your unused portion of your warranty if you would like, for a pro-rated share bacdk, but I'd imagine in the long run you wouod be upset with that decision.
