problem taking left hand corners?!

Hi all,

I recently bought my second Rx-8, its the 231PS Black, I previously had the 231PS blue and had no problems with it. However I've noticed that the black one (2004) seems to act a bit erratic when taking left hand corners, if I take a tight corner at moderate speed for a Rx-8 (high speed for most cars!) it seems that the front right wheel bites into the road and the car shudders and slows a little. At first I was think it was the DSC kicking in but it only feels like its affecting the right hand wheel and if I take a tight right hand corner the car goes around it no problem at all! Bear in mind this could be all in my imagination but I just said I'd ask in case anyone else had a similar experience??? Thanks!

Paul

Ps.... could it be down to the tyres? I don't think they're all the same and they're certainly not the same thread!

I sometimes have trouble making sharp left hand corners on my Craftsman riding lawnmower. The mower deck rides up on the left front tire (tyre). I have plenty of tread (thread) tho'.

Humor aside, it could very well be tire related. Note the wear pattern and if unusual consider an alignment.

It could be alignment, tire pressure, DSC sensors or a combination
Outside chance that something is bent.

could be anything, no matter how many guesses anyone takes... but go to ur local dealership and get it checked out.

but if i was to point out something, i would say it may be a suspension problem... hmm. get it checked if its bothersome....

good luck~!

same problem

I started noticing the exact same problem about a month ago...also only when turning left, not right. It's always the same turn, just before I get to work. Just as you described, the car shudders and slows down, and my DSC indicator comes on about 80% of the time this happens. I have an '04 MT GT, I'm running on Kumho Ecsta SPT tires.

I'm going out of town for a long weekend so I'm dropping off my car at the dealership tomorrow...recall, oil change, tail light, so i'm gonna mention this as well. I'll let you know if they find anything.

Thanks Heavy, it'd be interesting to see what they say, I'm gonna take mine out for a good drive this evening and see if its still there and to make sure its not in my imagination!!! I checked the tyres last nite and they're good quality Bridgestones with plenty thread so I don't think its the tyres.

Thanks everyone for your advice, looks like the best think would be just to get it checked out by Mazda.
