Latest visit to the dealer check engine light

I took my car in because is was getting a check engine light for small evap leak. I checked to be sure the gas cap was tight and cleared the code. It would come back after a few starts.

I took it in today and they said there was an open recall for a new flash. They gave me a nice Mazda 3 loaner and called a few hours later to say it was done. Unfortunatley, the check engine light came back on when I got home. I take it back in next week. I kind of think it may be a bad gas cap.

I am curious what the new flash corrected or improved. My work order says recall xxdozxfx MSP16. Does anyone know what this fixes? I did not have any issues with the way it was running.

Do a search on MSP16

The gas cap should have been replaced

Here is the Gas Cap "TSB" , its N/C fix. Print out and give to dealer....let us know how it goes.

Has anyone noticed a rough idle problem after having the latest flash? Today, I noticed that while after driving a while and coming to a stop the idle was rough but not everytime.

The car does seem like it has more power since the flash. I need to go back for the gas cap or whatever is causing the check engine light. I;ll ask them to check it out.
