can any 1 help, ive got a flat spot on my rx8, but when i get to 4000 rpm the car is fine. ive canged plugs & leads but did not help any 1 got any idears ?

 

What the hell is a *flat* spot ?

 

"plugs and leads" (guessing spark plugs and spark plug wires)

You may also need to change the coils...assuming "flat spot" means an area of no, or little power, on your rev range.

That happened to me at about 5k rpm and was "fixed" when I put in spark plugs, spark plug wires, and coils. There are a number of places to get OEM coils cheaper than the dealer...look around.
