thats hideous.. thank god its just a concept rx-7 versus what will actually happen in production.

 

Its only hideous if you think the furai concept is hideous, which frankly I'd think you be nuts to call it ugly. We all know that the RX8 tends to be a divider of sorts (aka people love it or hate it) when it comes to looks. Frankly I'd love to own the furai more than this care, but this will make a nice second.

Also this is a repost of another thread in the RX8 discussion forum, but this is a different article, the other one linked a road and driver article. Id be willing to bet yahoo just stole the article from them vrs them having an actuall spy, but whatever.

i dont think they are anything alike. furai > rx-7 2011 concept

 

I would say it more closely resembles the Ryuga concept

 

I think it looks decent. At least it has some styling cues from the 8.

 

It'll look better down the road, I wonder if it'll still have a rotary in it

 

Because the "2011" obviousily took styling ques from the furai, the front grill is agressive and and the lines and curves also look the same. Granted you have to look at the styling of both cars instead of the total car because the furai concept is supposed to be a super car, while the 2011 is supposed to a semi cheap sports car. But they are in the same family.
