'05 RX-8 for sale....very LOW mileage. (New York)

Hi all,

I am posting this for my uncle:

For SALE!!!! A 2005 Mazda RX-8 with LESS THAN 6,500 miles on it. This car is in MINT condition. It has a 1.3L 238 HP engine mated to a 6 Speed manual. This baby is OK on GAS!!!! It has a stock BOSE audio system. Hate to see her go; but she must. If interested please call Wally @ 917-543-4282. I am asking 17.5/OBO. Located in the Bronx, NY.

Thanks for looking.

Lou

Well, if its an 05 with 6500 miles... and at an optimistic 20mpg (for easy calculations) that means 325 gallons. So thats about 81 gallons a year (assuming 4 years old). And even at $4 a gallon, that only $325 a year in gas!! (Duh, 4 years old and $4 a gallon). Great on gas indeed. I wish I only spent $325 on gas a year.

Back to topic, it looks very clean.

Edit: I see all-weather mats, does it have fabric/berbur/carpet/non-plastic mats?

I have one nearly identical just turned 40K. Sad to see the prices are down that much.

A big part of the problem today is any car that rates under 20MPG City just has no demand. Its amazing to see people pay $8000-$10,000 more for a Prius then a Matrix when over a 100,000 mile life of the car at $5 a gallon they'll only save about $3000 with the Prius. Just about the cost of the battery replacement at 90,000 miles.

I've been shopping for a car for my daughter. Used econobox prices are simply nuts. I'll probably buy new. Went to the Mazda dealer and looked at 3's and 6's with the 2.3. The selling price of the 6 is less then the 3 due to demand - the 3 gets about 1-2 MPG better then the 6 and has a sticker about 2K lower - yet they sell for more.

I doubt the used market for 8's will improve. Unless the next gen of 8's are vastly improved I'll be looking for one like this in about 3 more years and joining the FI club.

LOL you said an RX8 is great on gas... Maybe compared to a SEMI.

How many owners on the car? Was it brought as a demo car?

To answer your question saynotopistons, My cousin bought the car brand new from dealership and never really drove it. It was his sunday toy; then he and his wife had another kid so he gave the car to his dad (my uncle) who also barely drives it as well. So my uncle wants to sell it; hence here we are. I would have bought it as its still brand new and barely broken in but my situation has changed and would need a minivan opposed to a RX-8.... :-(

ah ha...only slightly misleading. However, one would pose, if a honda is never driven, then what would it be relative to the RX-8 in all respects to gas?
