dead engine, need a rebuilt one

Just moved to Germany for summer studies, and 2 weeks later my car decides to go on strike :P left me on the side of the autobahn, 200km from berlin.

I went to the dealership, got my car in the service, and today they called me and told me i need a new engine. cracked rotor housing or sth like that, i'm not a very good german speaker, and neither was his this tech's english. either way, a new engine costs 9k euros to buy/install, so i'm left with only one true alternative: buying a rebuilt engine.

question is, where can i get a rebuilt engine in Germany?

mind you, it's the 192HP engine, but i belive i'll talk about that when i find at least one company that sells them. Or perhaps a SH engine from a crashed 8?

tnx for any info you might have...

Engine

Hi there

Sad to hear...

How old is your car ? I have my 3th engine already, the last was was swapped by Mazda even with the car being OUT OF WARRANTY!!

So maybe you could contact Mazda Europe (???) They know there are problems with the engines, so they aren't that difficult to replace them!!! I would give it a shot !!!! You have nothing to lose !!

Maybe an other option if that does not work .... :

http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/se...siteId=GERMANY

The link above is from the mobile.de website (German website) -> type mobile.de in google -> you can switch to English in the right upper corner...

You can buy a whole car (192bhp) for 11000 euro !!! So enough extra parts to go a long way .. If you have to pay 9000 already, maybe you can buy a whole car.. enough spares to replace everything you ever need ... Or just drive that car and set your own car aside...

Rebuild:
I think there is a shop in Holland that rebuilds rotary engines, but maybe that is a bit to far from where you are ? Getting the engine over there etc.. will also cost you some money...

I hope Mazda Europe can help !

Good luck !

Steve
