CEL? Por Que?

Aight so I just got my 8 back from a repair shop after some *** ran a red light going 80 and peeled my rear bumper off, bent my exhaust, and messed up my back right quarter panel

CEL is on now, wasnt on before or after the crash

would removing the battery make the CEL turn on?
if I removed the battery on my last car (Scion tC) the CEL would turn on, I'm thinking maybe this is what happening with my 8

I havn't noticed any reasons for the CEL to be on.

porque tu tiene exhaust leak.

you know how the exhaust is only hung up by a couple of hooks? if the shock from the impact was real severe... i'd only assume that it might have busted something up as far as the exhaust manifold goes.

but then again...it can be a number of things. maybe even unrelated.
i'm just going by the exhaust as a problem since you mentioned your exhaust got hammered. have it checked, or listen for abnormal noises

ur trans is definitely affected as you must've been hit while in gear... correct?

have that brought up immediately.

as for the exhaust... it could just be that idiots at the body shop just install things improperly. i mean c'mon, they are just a BODY shop. but even then... ur exhaust may look ok visually, but say if the impact was hard enough to put a force that could've moved the exhaust manifold.... i'd just have a mazda dealer check it out to safe urself the headache.

its starting to seem like you got the short end of the stick from the other guy's insurance company...
