Basic Car upgrades

Hello everyone, I am a new registered user, New to the Rx-8 community as well as dealing with cars in general. I have fallen in love with my car even if it still is stock. Only problem is, I have two friends with an WRX STI and an EVO VIII. My poor car is just at a disadvantage here. I want to get a turbo, from what i have looked at so far the basic Greddy turbo is my best bet, and i have seen that it is required to get a boost gauge as well as a blow off valve in order to do this. I am asking for other nice basic upgrades that would go along well with this turbo situation... exhaust is always tight. Thanks!

P.S. I'm pretty much car retarded, some good suggestions on readings or what ever to get uncar retarded would be awesome.

go talk to your friends about their turbo cars. you should do a lot of research before you turbo your car. just use the search here, and the information is endless.

Welcome to the club straightshooter! Fortunately for all of us, questions like that have been asked already and there is now a wealth of knowledge on turbo systems.

Read up on Mazdamaniac's threads and look at his greddy upgrade kit

But their cars so hideous. No matter how much they throw money at it. those cars are still boxes on wheels with book shelf wings only useful as a Big Gulp placeholder at a local Seven Eleven. My other car is one of those in stage II tuned. The 8 is funner.
