Auto Cut Off

Anyone with an '04 Automatic (tiptronic) ever had their car cut off while idling.. or moving? The engine light came on and I took it to the shop who said it was an EVAP so I'm scheduling an appointment with another Mazda dealer to get the gas cap or whatever. The thing is, I was sitting in a parking lot with the car on (in park) and the rpms dropped below one and the car cut off. Then today I was driving in the parking garage and it started acting strange, like a power loss, so I changed it to "manual" and shifted to 1 instead of 2, but it was taking more gas. When I got to the top I let off the gas so the car would go by itself and it cut off while going 6mph. Someone told me to use that crap in the stores, fuel system cleaner, but I don't know how that would work out and if it's ok? Some people said that stuff screws up the car. Anyway, I'm calling the dealer now (so they can just call it an EVAP code again -.-) but I was wondering if any of you have any ideas?

Thanks

IDK about the cutting out but I always use the fuel injector cleaner from auto parts stores and it works fine not sure if it actually helps that much but I've never had a problem(Knock on Wood)

It should not take too awfully long. They would probably give you a rental if it does. Surely your "favorite car" is work a little maintenance. How many miles do you have on it, what have you done for it so far?

40,000 and I don't mind taking it up there lol. As long as they're going to fix it, but the car goes out of warranty in June so I'm trying to make sure it has all the recalls and stuff :P I think, after this, we'll be good to go.... unless the engine light isn't the gas cap :P

FSC (Fuel System Cleaners) works, well, depends on which one.

V-Power? Maybe, I have 2 bottles but havent try it yet.

Prestone ? seems to be fine.

Haven't used any FSC on this car, but on others the best I've used is prestone. BG44k is something I've never used, but from the recall statements it seems like the problem is going to be covered in the warrenty anyway, at least I hope so =/ I don't have any money right now :P
