Veilside D1-GT Hood

Hey guys I am planning on getting the Veiside D1-GT Hood sometime in the future. I was wondering if there will be any issues with durability and if it will wobble at high speeds. I will be getting the authentic one only. Thanks.

Here is a pic:

It is POSSIBLE that it might wobble at some speeds, however, I have no evidence to back that up. I have personally installed a hood onto one car and it had no issues as far as fitment.
I suggest that you look at the option of hood pins. With ANY fiberglass or carbon hood, I would suggest these just to be on the safe side.
We do have the latch for the hood, but, anything could happen.

There have been no reports of any of our hoods breaking or flying up, so that is a good thing to keep in mind.

yea i'm driving on the stock latch and its my daily driver. i rarely see the hood wobble and if it does it is barely noticeable. i have done some spirited driving with it on and it is holding up like a champ. i guess if you wanted it to hold more securely you could go with hood pins but again i havent had a problem. o yea and mine is carbon fiber

Does anyone know approximately the cost to paint the hood? Also, if I got hood dampers, would I have issues with it closing like carbon fiber?

I have the D1GT hood in CF, and I only get wobbles past 90mph (which i do pretty frequently) but ive taken the car above 120mph for extended periods of time, and it has held just fine, fitment is PERFECT, and durability of the CF is great.

I didnt paint mine, so I dont know what the cost would be, but usually ballpark about $150-$200 per panel painted on a car.

Hey thanks. I am actually going to be getting it in FRP and not carbon fiber. Aren't they both the same though? Isn't the carbon fiber one just FRP with a layer of carbon fiber layed over it?

I haven't bought it yet, but the best price I found it for was $500 at intense power.

ok so i was really taking a look at how the hood was reacting the past few days and noticed this. the only time that i saw the hood bounce or wobble was when i hit a bump. the hood holds very well driving around. now the bounce that i noticed over the bumps are very slight and you really have to be looking. also keep in mind that it doesnt happen over every bump its just the really bad ones(have a lot of those over here).

I have the carbon fiber D1-GT hood and have hoodpins on it and have no problems with it at all.
