I'm so excited to see you guys are going to Deals Gap-Its within acceptable driving distance for me to come check out.

I'm interested in purchasing an RX8, but want to get a feel for how they sound, what mods are availible, and how the owners really feel about them. (I'm absolutely in love with the look and motor, however) So I'm planning on coming up to Deals Gap and checking out the fun of the Rotary Rally. I hope you don't mind. As I'm more than a little shy, I was actually hoping some of you, or even just 1 person would be willing to let me touch base with you when I get there. I imagine I'll be more than a little nervous about walking up to random people and jumping into the conversation, so atleast having spoken to someone before would be a huge help.

Also, I'm fully intending on taking pictures while up there, and was wondering if that would be okay with people? I know my boyfriend has made it quite plain I'm required to take pictures of his Mach 1 lol. Not that he doesn't have a million already


Could I order shirts as well? I'm hoping this will be the first and only Rally I attend without my own RX8, and would love to get my hands on the shirts.

 

We need pics of you first before we'll answer any questions.

 

Do those pictures need to be with or without clothes? 'Cause I want the best answers possible :P

And I'm sure everyone is friendly, I just have this nightmare where I walk up and everyone just give me the "look". And turn around and I feel like a total loser.

Oh, and I've totally bet the BF he gets shown up by the RX8s...He/we normally only go to the gap on bikes, so bringing the car will be a new experience.

 

No we wont do that to you! We might do it to the BF though...

 

He'd be fine with it. Its killing him I want to get something that isn't a v8. Or a 350Z. I've always been in the middle of any work he's done to his cars (swapping for lighter drive shaft, installing springs...anything he'll let me do), so I think he assumed I would get a Mustang or Charger. So the RX8 obsession is a shock for him.

 

I expect some police enforcement on the TN side so I would not plan on many opportunities to open the cars up and see who can show who up.

I will be up there Saturday around/before noon, so if you haven't already made friends with some 8 owners then feel free to find me. I will be in a nice blue 2nd gen rx7 that will be easy to spot. There are usually several people talking to me at once, as I am the regional engine builder for this area and people are either discussing past projects I have built, or future projects I am yet to build. :D

BTW I am also an 8 owner.

Yah, came up on saturday. Was in the dark gray mach 1 (mustang). Spent the morning at the show til about noon, then went to the gap and took pictures.

I have alot of pictures of 7's, and a few of the 8s. Sadly, I met the largest group of 8s as we were getting ready to leave, and they were slow to come back to the dragon and I gave up as the bf and I were both dead tired. Just check back this time tomorrow night and I'll hopefully have everything posted up.

I'm almost certain I do, I remember looking at it at the car show. If you ran the gap, do you remember a gray mustang sitting off the road and someone taking pictures? If so, I should have deals gap pictures as well.
