Aem cold air intake green plug question?

Hello everyone I'm new to the mazda world and rotary engine scene. I have purchased a 05 mazda rx-8 with 12,00 miles with some slight mods (F+R sways, and air intake). The previous owner installed an aem cold air intake and there seems to be something a little strange as there seems to be an extra plug that is not being used. I wanted to know if anyone has a copy of the install instructions or knows what this plug that I will post a picture of happens to be. I will show a picture of a plug and the place i believe it belongs but im not quite sure what it is. I'm coming from the world of subaru so I'm not quite familiar with the engines and everything else under the hoods.

that is where the plug goes, with the stock intake installed on the vehicle. with the aem, the solenoid that you see in the pic should be removed and the vac lines plugged or capped off

So let me get this straight I shouldnt bother pluging this in? I dont know if you can tell but in the second picture of the solenoid the outlet on the right hand side as a screww inserted in the rubber hose that is comming off of it. How is the solenoid usually mounted in the bay I have an open ended screw and dont know where it goes? So its ok for me to plug it in as long as it is capped off? I also hear a put put every so often from the exhaust is that normal?

I took the solenoid out as it didn't do anything with the cai installed capped the line, (the screw should work just doesn't look pretty) then double the green plug back on itself and electrical taped it, can't even tell there is a plug there.

And as for the 'put put' sound. that is completely normal and one of the fun little things that come with a rotary. It's excess/unburned gas, it's fine. I shoot flames with my "put put"
