Oil pressure sender question

I'm using an oil filter sandwich adapter. Does the end of my oil pressure sender need to stick out passed the port hole to give an accurate reading?
Right now the end of the sender is sitting recessed in the hole a little ways because of the thickness of the wall. Thanks

It doesn't matter where it is. It will work fine.
