opinions on rims

i was thinking of getteng these wheels for my 04 red 8.
they come in 18x7.5 18x8 and 18x9. will it make a big difference in handling based on size?
also the package comes with falken zx912 tires. has anyone ever used these tires?
Any opinions/input would be very appreciated.

Not my style. It is going to make the sides look very "busy". But if you like it then go for it!

You should have this moved to the wheels section. FWIW the wheels are a bit over the top.

Yes get the 18x8 or the 18x9.

Handling is only an issue if you track it or if you speed ilegally on the twisties.

Those might have looked OK with just the black spokes, but now it just looks like a bunch of red ribbons haphazardly stapled on. They'll look terrible on an 8. IMHO.

i get the impression that someone cut strips of galvanized metal sheets, spray painted it red, then nailed it onto the black rims when i look at it. and yeah, looks like ribbons... not my type too

also, it might give people the impression that you're "trying too hard to be a baller"

Thanks for the advice. I was also kinda thinking they looked like a little to much. The guys at my work liked them, but they all like big baller looking cars.
I am not going to get them

If the red straps were removed then they wouldn't be bad. Any other styles your looking at? If its the red spokes your after then I don't think these other enkeis look too bad. The other image is without the straps.

Edit: IMO with Velocity red I would go with an all black wheel of black with polished lip.

Definitally don't go below an 8" width of the wheel. And also, Definitally don't get those wheels. As everyone else has said, they are ugly.

I don't think you could go wrong with those at all. They look the best out of all that is pictured. It's got just enough red on them to accent your VR while not being over the top. I love like mesh-style wheels.

Not my terms but not far off...

1. baller

A thug that has "made it" to the big time. Originally refered ball players that made it out of the streets to make millions as a pro ball player, but now is used to describe any thug that is living large.

Pain is a part of the game when you're a baller.

(N)
1. One who exhibits a consistent proficency at-, or exuberant love for the game of basketball.
2. One whose person has been fully and successfully established in numerous social circles (esp. one who is extremely popular with both the male and female members of any given social group)
3. One whose status in society has been earned by one's possession of "game" (that is, proficiency at the game of life)

(Adj)
1. Exhibiting those qualitites of a baller; not limited to the description of a person, 'baller' may be used to describe any place, thing or situation.

(N)
1. "Kobe Bryant... now THAT kid's a baller"
2. "Wanna be a baller, shot caller, twenty inch blades on the impala, caller getting laid tonight..."
3. "Hey yo! Don't let nobody else up in this booth. I see nothing but gansters up in here, I see nothing but ballers up in here..."

(Adj)
1. "This Sh*t is baller"

Suburbanation of 'Baller':
"Wow, that man is really quite 'on the ball'."

2. baller

Livin large, with girls and money

Mike Z. and Derek L. are straight ballers

You let all these guys change your mind??? It's cool to get feedback, but you've got to go with what you think is right. I like the wheels. I think they would look good on, as long as the red is a match to the VR of your 8. My wheels don't look that great in pictures, but when you see it on the car, they are the right ones. Baller wheels? If they were 20"+ and chrome. Go for what you like.

Buy whatever rims you want as long as they're lighter than stock and have +/- 5 of the stock offset. That's my advice.

I like the one on the left. The other one reminds me of a wagon wheel.
