i dunno i think is someone who spent about 1/2 each headlight with some meguirs stuff and liked the outcome and now thinks he has magic hands or soemthing.. But i could be wrong man! so dont get offended

 

Here they are. Just remember my light had a bad yellowish haze to them. I have been trying to buy a replacement because of how bad they looked.

so you used a 1000 grit sandpaper and clearcoated the lens afterwards to fill the scratches in...wow! big deal.

anyone who'd taken autobody 101 could've told you that... its just a matter of spraying the clear on with steady hands thats the hard part.

did that with my old car's clear corner that i dropped on the floor and....ooops, stepped on it.

will gladly pay for some "real" service... but not this something anyone can DIY.
on this car forum, hopefully i receive as much as i can provide......but helping out is part of what this community does for eac other.

its not my intention to offend if that is not the technique at hand ur speaking of. if it isn't...please enlighten me. i'd love to hear ur trick. my car came with slight hazy headlights from the dealership... sure they were using some solvent to remove glue prior to delivery... not too noticeable.

but how does ur method differ? i'd love to know.

You can buy a kit an any automotive store for restoring your lights. 2nd option would be as TrochoidMagic stated..

our headlight issues are mostly from "Grime" that appears on the inside of the lens.

 

It's a polycarbonate lens. Very easy to clean or fix depending on the issues, and many products available.

 

Yeah, I saw thw Mothers guys use mag wheel polish and their buff ball to take off the haze. Followed that with their plastic polish.

Looked good when done.

I tried it on my wifes Odysessy and the lenses look much better. Need to go over it a couple more time for a 'show car' look.

No more haze.

If you are going to do that, mask over the paint around the headlights first. The buff ball and mag wheel polish might do a job on your paint.

yeah, go to the dealer, and they'll give you a new set of headlights.

I'm on my 3rd set. Out of the 48k warranty now though, so I'm not getting anymore replacements.

 

Regular paint polishing compound works fine on headlights... Meguiars Scratch-X (designed for hand polishing on paint) and Meguiars Plastic-x (designed for plastic lenses) are available at most auto parts store.

THe headlights too oxidized for polish only? No prob, 2000 grit wet sand and polish after that.

So easy, my car illiterate gf can do it.
