Probably a knock-off. AFAIK Seibon makes decent products. Where did you get it? Link?

i will admit that some of it is my replica ms bumper.... but the lines next to the fenders are raised. i will try to get something back but i doubt it will happen... if not can anybody come up with a creative solution? the only thing i could think of is hood pins right above the fenders to hold the raised parts down....

that sucks man... honestly, we dont need a CF hood when our hood is already aluminum... i just plan on painting my hood black or keeping it WB. But sorry for the knock off, get your money back if you can

Looks real to me, but it also depends on how they stored it. Could have been warpage or something. Seibon is a descent company.
IMHO, your rep kit fitments is worst.. Good luck with that.

you know, i don't know how others are saying about seibon is a great company blah blah blah, to me, it's crap, I've seen so many seibon product, NONE fits well to me. Stop saying it's a REAL or AUTHENTIC seibon hood, SEIBON ITSELF IS A FUXKING REPLICA, so when you're getting replica, crappy fittment is expected, stop complain and live with it. or get a veilside hood, which is real and it fits PERFECT.

No aftermarket part is going to have perfect fittment on every single vehicle. If you look at the construction of CF hoods they all have slightly different shapes.

I have that same Seibon emblem on my hood and it was ordered directly from Seibon. I had to tweak the alignment of the hood slightly and it fits without any problems.

If Seibon is a replica what is it a replica of? So far I haven't seen any Seibon hoods which match any other vendor with the exception of the OEM RX8 hood.

seibon is a replica hood....they replicate oem and varis.....so if thats a fake then its a fake of a fake.... but that looks real and seibon's fit is far from perfect.......thats why i, along with many others always say buy real..this is a perfect example....you get what you pay for...did you expect a fake ms kit to work perfectly with a fake oem hood?......you want a decent piece then you have to go with more reputable companies......but that will cost ALLOT more

in my own point of view, both Seibon and VIS OEM style hood have fitment problem. Seibon is a little worse than VIS cuz the gap is terrible.

*shrugs* My SEIBON hood fits well enough. The gap on one side, is just slightly larger but nothing too noticable.

Also: rx8spiritR, cool down man. I dont know why you need to go all half-c*cked and stuff..

they are a reputable company for sure but they do copy originals....not saying they arent one of the better replica companies but they are.....personally i am a stickler for very close fits but some people are a bit more forgiving.......every one has personal taste limits.....if you were local i would be able to pinpoint for you exactly what i am referring to

yea im not very picky. its not really the gaps that bother me... its how it lines up with the fenders... on the side u cannot see the hood is raised maybe a 1/4" above the fender

i wonder if it was stored incorrectly like wind dance said...
i will probably go and get anotherone from the people i bought it from....

it was when it was cured and has nothing to do with storage.....it was a bad batch when they were made....either that or your fenders are more off than you thought.....seibon is decent and wont be off that much so i tend to believe its a combination of the 2 that make it like that and another hood may vary even more......

You dont need to read Japanese.. I imagine Japanparts.com or even Lazi should be able to get you what you want..
