While browsing through the Johnson Smith catalog recently (jokes, toys, odds & ends), I came across this ad for a brush that attaches to your cordless drill and cleans your rims by spinning action.

No big deal, especially at thirty bucks plus shipping, but look at the photo closely.

They 'shopped-out the logo on the center cap, but there's no mistaking our favorite car.

 

"Cleans wheels in minutes". Shouldn't it be "in seconds"? If i'm going to pay for a tool, i'd expect it to work faster than cleaning by hand.

 

Doesn't say how many wheels in "minutes", lol.

I think it's a gimmick. What caught my attention was the RX-8 in the photo.

You know, somebody is going to ignore the directions and use this with a plug-in, 120 vac drill, and electrocute themselves.

I saw our wheels on the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (for automotive tire/rubber) box too The center cap was taken off/de-badged I believe.

That's for metal finish wheels. Ours have a painted surface.

 

I dont trust those wheel *****. One slip and there goes the finish on your wheel. Nothing works better than some good ole elbow grease soapy water and a cloth.
