A week ago I installed H-Tech springs on my girls 8 I did not preload the suspension. When I measured the hight from the middle of the center cap on the wheel to the edge of the fender. All four corners measured 15". The car did not look lower so I did some seaching and found that preloading the suspension would help. So friday I did this know it measuered 14 1/2 " all the way around. I was wondering what it measues on the stock suspension. And if any body is or has ran the spring what was your results.

 

A lot of people are using h-techs. Just do a search, you might get quicker results.

 

I installed H springs, unfortunately I made the same mistake you did by not pre-measuring the height. I preloaded them and the height was no better, I actually thought the car looked higher even after doing the preload procedure twice! After a couple weeks they settled somewhat but was still dissatisfied with the height. I took them off and installed S springs and that did the trick. My car sits nice and low, looks sweet and rides tight.

To me H springs are merely a step sideways from the OEM. Some people claim their H springs lowered their RX-8s but not in my case.

 

My car sits lower than stock on H-Tech springs.

 

Mine sits lower than stock as well. The bigger difference is in the front as it drops more than the rear. The rear looks close to stock, but if you look closely, it's a tad lower.

By the way, I notice that the passenger's side (F+R) sits a little higher than the driver's side. SouthFL, is your car like that, too? Or is it even on both sides? I thought it was because the car was on unlevel ground, but no matter where I go/park, it's always higher on the passenger's side.

Something not really satisfied is that the spec of the H-tech tells that the drop of front is more than the rear, but after installed on my car, I still see my front higher than the rear. I know this is normal for stock, was hoping to even it by H-Tech, but failed.

 

I'd say the stance is pretty much even on both sides.

As for the drop F/R, I didn't choose these springs for aesthetic reasons, but the slightly lowered stance compared to stock is welcomed.

would the H-techs combined with koni-yellows be even lower than H-techs by themselves, because I know the S-techs with koni yellows are a tad lower than the S-techs by themselves.

With the Konis set at 50% firm front, 25% firm rear (from softest setting as base), the car is not stiff. It's not harsh. It handles better. Picture a stock ride without the excessive rebound and with less body roll. It's just a hair fimer in ride compared to stock.
