So you know that lump that sticks out of the floor on the passenger side of left hand drive rx-8s? is that present on the right hand side of RHD cars, or did they move it over?

 

Do you mean the foot-rest or the wheel arch?!

 

He's referring to the oddly-shaped raised area on the floor, right in front of the seat. I think I read that it's the onboard computer, or something like that. If I'm not mistaken, it's on the same side of all RX-8s (passenger side on LHD cars; driver side on RHD).

 

Yupp..in the right hand drive, the driver's footwell has that oddly shaped bump. While the passenger's footwell is flat and a lot more spacious...

 

yeah that bump is what I'm talking about.

man I'm glad I live in a LHD country now... that thing would **** me off, tho it would make driving with your knee that much easier.

Any comments on comfort from RHD owners?

 

Yeah mine's RHD -- and I still don't know what your on about.
I'll check it out more closely later, but it can't be causing me much hassle if I've not even noticed it!

 

Another thing thats painful about the rhd lump is that your left foot rubs against it & wears the carpet prematurely.
