Im looking into which coilover setup I want. My car is my daily driver so it will be driven around town most of the time. I do track the car here and there.

I have searched on these forums and have seen the big names obviously such as HKS, Tein, JIC, Tanabe, etc.

What would you guys feel would be the best coilover option?

As far as ride quality I like it to be a little stiff, but not bone crunching like and all out race car.

Would you guys mind helping me out?

 

I think it'll come down to personal taste. All the coilovers listed above are from reputable companies so it'll come down to how much you want to spend and to a few reviews.

HKS: I've driven 2 cars with these coilovers, felt great! I didn't push the car hard nor was it on the track.

Can't say I have any personal experience with the others though...

All I can say is Tein CS. They are great, probably stiff enough for occasional track use and yet soft enough for daily use (I don't track my car that is why I said probably).

I would never pay 750 for the Tein Basics when all you get is ride height adjustable. For 100 dollars more you can get in on the deal TEIN USA is having on the CS. Just look at what they can do compared to Tein Basic.

Tein Basic has:
-Height Adjustability via spring perch
-Set dampening rates, NO adjustability
-You have to reuse your stock upper mounts
-Twin Tube design
-8k Front 6k Rear spring rates, about 3 times as stiff as stock

Tein CS has:
-Height Adjustability via spring perch
-16x adjustable dampening (comp/rebound together)
-Pillowball upper mounts
-EDFC compatible
-Monotube
-5k Front 3k Rear spring rates, about 2 times as stiff as stock

Tein USA is selling the CS for 850, MSRP is 1500. You guys can decide which is better. The only thing you get more of with the basic is the spring rates. Everything else goes to the CS. I vote CS all the way, especially if your car is a daily driver. I'm not saying there aren't better coilovers out there, but for the money these are hard to beat.

 

I think DPE had a review for the Tein Basics and basically said he liked either of the Tein H-Tech and Koni or Tokico combos better. Does anyone have a review for the Bilstein PSS9?
