I am looking to upgrade my 2005 shinka suspension for a better one but i need to know what my options are for what i am looking for. I am acctually loking for good coilovers but will settle for springs if it will give me more of what i am looking for, below is a list of what i am looking for in my suspension setup....

Stiffer ride but not untolerable stiff just enough to reduce body roll, still a daily driver

Lowers the car enough to even it out, and close wheel gaps

smooth and comfortable ride, high performance when needed

 

Honestly, people have different opinions on different springs/coilovers. It's up to you after a little research on deciding which one. There are a whole bunch of threads on different springs/coilovers. I have the Tein S springs. I personally like them. It's a 1.4'' drop on the front, and a 0.7'' drop on the back. The ride isn't noticeably stifff compared to stock.

 

I had eibachs on my celica for years and never had a problem with stock shocks. I have eibachs now on my 8 again on stock shocks. Lowered, nice ride. If money is a factor, I'd get springs only and see how it goes. At least that's what I'm doing.

I bought the TEIN CS Coilovers. They have an adjustable ride height and they are very comfortable. Adjustable dampening as well so you can have it very stiff or very soft and anywhere in between. And TEIN USA still has a deal on them. You can get them for 850, Msrp is like 1500.

Oh, and they are EDFC compatible as well, so you don't need to adjust the dampening manually everytime you want to change it.

Just to give you an Idea, most aftermarket coilovers are in the 7-9k front and 5-7k rear for spring rates. These are 5k front 3k rear. Very soft compared to other coilovers for our cars. Yet, these are still about 2 times as stiff a rate as stock.

I bought these for the above reasons, and the fact that my car is a daily driver. I needed to keep comfort at a maximum. I don't track my car, so I can't say how well they perform at the limits, but they do reduce body roll a good amount and still remain very streetable.
