Front Air Dam

Hey, I'm thinking of getting Mazda's Front Airdam. (Sorry, not interested in MazdaSpeed or others.) Question: would this look ok if I don't have the side and rear "aero flares"—or would it look somehow out of balance? (In other words, are they visually supposed to all go together—as a set—or would the front airdam look good just by itself?)

Thanks for your thoughts.

If you are going to buy it new from the dealer I would get the R-Magic front lip instead....may cost a little more but well worth it.

I have the front air dam without side flares (my car did come with front and rear splash guards though). I think it looks fine, the air dam is subtle enough. Not sure what color your 8 is, but check AZPARTSEXPRESS on ebay for great deals on air dams and other RX-8 aero parts. That's where I got my air dam.

Thanks, Aipex8 - that's exactly what I wanted to know! The pic is very helpful. I, too, have the front & rear splash guards, and looking for a front air dam that's VERY subtle. (Mine's Black Cherry Mica, BTW.)

If you have the front and rear gards then it will look great.

Examinr the R Magic. Notice how that would be too big without the Aero package.

I have a VR Rx-8 and I want to just and the air dam and front and rear splash guards. I think the guards bring balance to the lower body on an a with the air dam.

Below is a picture of one of the club members car.

^I think you have to remove the front bumper to install it. Some who are handy can do that with their eyes closed; for others (like me, with no garage) it's not that easy. I had the dealer install it.
