New member with new car.

Hello all, my name is Gino and these are a couple of pics of our new car.
Its a 2008 GT with everything but navigation. Got it friday night (Dec 21st) with 2 miles for a bit under invoice.
No mods planned since it will be my wife's daily and with intentions to steal it every now and then.

Hope you all like.

and this would be my daily that I decided to sneak in this thread.

who from San Diego wants to hang out tomorrow and ride?

congrats, its no match for a mildly tuned wrx ( i like the older bug eyed ones like that) But i can assure you it is a fun car. But on wet pavement be careful your loosing the joy of awd. but good luck and have fun

Welcome! Beautiful looking RX-8...definitely like your daily driver. My former car that I owned over the last 2 years was an '06 2.5L WRX that I ran in DS.

no, its a 6spd Manual. Wouldnt pay for anything else. Wife hated me for a while because I taught her to drive in her 5spd miata that we are now selling.

Pics were taken at Mills Park inside of MCAS Miramar in San Diego.

chiketkd: Nice Impreza wrx, too bad you dont have it no more.

this is her old car (take at Balboa Park:

Yes, they sell the hard top so you can switch it.
The 6spd miata seemed complicated to drive to me over the 5spd and I found myself doing uselss shifting so we ended up buying the 5spd. Initially I wanted the SE model with 6 spd and leather.

Oops, meant 5spd Miata. lol
I go to Mazda dealerships almost every other weekend to just sit in an 8 and play with the shifter [IlovethecarTHATmuch] I don't own one yet ;] and I got used to the 6spd. When my friend let me drive his Miata, I almost switched to R thinking it was 6th gear He has a '93 one, and I guess they didn't come out with that safety feature where you have to pull up or push down on the shifter to go into Reverse.
So what's first on the mod list?

not the biggest fan of decals but both cars are very nice. Specially the suby. Those headlights and grill are my next mods.

I feel you on keeping the sponsors happy. I had the rally style side decals on mine before to keep dunlop happy for the tires they were providing free of charge.

I must say, I'm impressed. Good call on the 6 speed, I would have bet money an RX-8 for your wife would have been an auto.
