say if one were to put spacers to lower offset in the rear and leave the front offset stock. would this cause any unfavourable handling dynamics? mostly asking about rear effectively having less roll than the front if just the rears get wider.

 

well staggering affects handling. i would assume since your lowering the offset, you are going wider. you wouldnt handle as good then

 

but your rear roll resistance should go up, so is effective 'center of gravity' not really but you can see with wider stance, it'd make the car harder to flip.

i understand why staggering would affect handling, still wondering whether just going lower offset in the rear would affect the handling as well.

 

well this car is already hard enough to flip. but im not sure about the effect of offset on handing

 

understeer. thats what mine does.

 

also keep in mind you will more than likely need spacers with a hub centric ring...

This all depends on the current handling characteristics of your car and your driving style. This is a relative question to tell you the truth.

When you reduce the offset you are also changing the "lever" point for your suspension, effectively changing the optimal desired spring rate.

no way you are going to figure it out before you drive it for a long while..

you have so so so many variables going on.. patience....

imho. you might have the car that really really needs some or a fair amount of stagger..


but drive learn, then buy... wonder what the speedsource guys are running? that might be a start..
