Maybe Tein...not sure...What springs?

What are the best springs for the 8? I was considering the tein h or s tech at first but i want performance and i want the look. What gives the lowest drop and performs the best? Can i get a significant drop and can handling coexist with a nice drop? And if anybody has the teins could you tell me about them?

Thanx

Do a search for the "Springs springs springs" thread. It's been discussed to death.

If you want performance, look into the Tein-S. They're very popular.

Search will set you free!

Search for a bit, springs are a major topic

you can never go wrong with teins

but for the serious drop, go with the sprint springs.

Eibachs! FTW!!

Or spend a little extra and get yourself a set of coilovers so you don;t have to put new struts in when you kill them with your springs..

or spring/strut combo all at once.

No struts on our cars.

(Spring) Tein H or S + (Damper) Koni or Tokico D Spec combo pairs up nicely.
In fact, practically any spring with Koni or D Spec pairs up nicely and will improve performance. Spring selection will come down to how much you want to lower the car.

i think H tech are more for a softer ride, and S techs are stiffer and more for performance

I run an H-Tech/ Koni combo for my street car which is tracked about every 6 weeks on a road course. The performance is very nice, while the ground clearance and the comfort ride is very nice (for getting around town). I think it's the best of both worlds.

have you had the S techs before? i think the spring rate depends a LOT on what dampers you have with them

^ I have a set of S Tech sitting in my garage, and the minimal performance gain they would offer (in return for the inability to make it up my driveway's clearance) does not interest me.

throw a set of koni yellows in there with some S Techs or MS springs and I think you'll be pretty happy. (plus that's cheaper then coilovers)

look in the DPE subforum for a write up on the H Techs.

well if you are interested in selling them in the spring, hit me up!! i was either going to go with koni's or the tokiyo, but i dont know how much of a difference there is between the two. and i believe the S-techs work with stock shocks correct?

yes, they will but the stock shock will wear out much faster (due to the stiffer spring being put on it)

+1 on the koni yellows

I personally like the prokits better then the teins.

I believe the teins are linear and the prokits are progressive as well..

If you want performance and can't go with coilovers I would say go with the mazdaspeed springs and koni yellows. The s.techs really arent stiff enough in my opinion. I went from the mazdaspeed setup to the koni/stech setup and eventhough i really love the drop with the stechs, the MS springs are so much better. I would definately go coilover for my next setup though. Hope that helped.
