I have just received a message from Mazda Canada after inquiring about the development book.

They told me that because of the HP change, they are not sending out any more books with the incorrect data. As an alternative, if you have not received your book, a commemerative RX-8 pen will be sent to you.

That works for me since I purchased one of the books on e-bay already! :D

Hmmm.. I called them again last week about my missing book (my dealer never sent the paperwork, I had phoned Mazda Canada in early September about it), and I was told that they were holding further book shipments until the rebate/return situation was finalised. He indicated that the books would be sent - this must be a recent change of plans.

I have a copy of the book already also, but still wanted the one from Mazda Canada. A pen? It better be a damn nice pen!!!

Cool that makes the books even more rare. Too bad my cover is all bent up from the crappy shipping box!

I got the pen a couple of weeks ago. My car was delivered in October. It is leather wrapped and comes in a fancy stainless steel box.

 

Does your pen come apart when you try to take the lid off? The nib portion is a friction fit with the barrel where it meets the leather and it seems to be too loose to hold together. I hope the Rx-8's not built as bad as that pen. :D
