255/45/R18 on OEM rim?
i looked it up on tire rack and the only tire ( winter ) that came up in that size was a blizzak lm-22 or 25....not sure. the rim range for that size of tire is 8.5 - 10 i believe. The stock rims are 18x8 i think. Just out of curiosity.........why do you need 255 tires for winter????? even for a summer tire thats just too much tire for this car. You would be good with 225's......but to each his own.
Yes, going thinner is better for the winter.
Also, that size tire will not fit the stock 8inch wide rim. If you want to run 255 tires you need a minimum of 8.5inch wide rim.
For winter it is better to get a 215 or even a 205 tire.

Yea, I've heard that thinner tires are better in snowy conditions. It was just that a friend was offering to sell me his winter tires for dirt cheap. $275 for a set of 4 blizzaks, only used for ~4000 KM. Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be. Thanks for the help guys!
