Hello,
I noticed this weekend when detailing my rx 8, 2004 that I have cracking in the groves of my threads, 3 out of 4 of the groves are cracked.
I only have 16,000 miles on it, and have never seen this kind of wear before.
I am going to call the delearship tommorrow and find out what the deal is. I couldnt find any recall notice.
They are Potenza's but, I dont think my rims are oem...they dont look like everyone elses, but still have the mazda emblem on the center.
I know that the last time I was at the dealership, they put nitrogen in the tires, which did stop my sensor from coming on all the time.

 

Sorry to say but 10000-20000 Miles is the average life span of the factory tires. thats the price of a performance car with performance tires.
