I'm contemplating exporting my 8 to Australia - either to Perth or Sydney. Does anyone have knowledge of the Australian procedures and costs involved?

If I were to buy a new 8 in either these 2 states - what would be a good bargain? Mazda.COM.AU shows the RRP to be about 48K-49K, depending on transmission type and options.

 

48 for an 8, thought they where more then that
in syd a bargin would be about 35k 2nd hand i think

 

A$48,990 is for base model (non-leather), and that excludes tax, rego, and other costs. Of course, you can always negotiate with the dealer.

I went through all the motions when we moved from NZ back to Aus and the tax and duty is the problem. It's calculated on what you paid for the car not what it's current value is.
Ended up selling in NZ and buying #2 iin Aus
