loss of all power and rattling

Hey guys, I got some issues with my car at the moment, I just installed the Espelir exhaust and the typhoon v.2

now, My car feels a tad bit more powerful, my first gear is now pretty much god like,

however, my second gear, once I get to about 6k rpm, it starts to rattle and my acceleration is cut off almost completely, I do not know why, my hypothesis being that the intake is either not sucking in enough air or its sucking in hot air, or my tranny is busted, someone pls help

did you plug the hole where the vdaf was hooked to? or did you not take it off...

did you reset the ecu?????? is the maf connected correct? cel?

is the vdaf still hooked up if so is the elec connector still attached?? sounds more like you botched the intake install..

beers

btw, it may seem like i am harshing you out, and i am a bit,, but i am willing to help.. send me a pm... you seem to keep on making the same mistakes over and over again...

"Rattle" and power loss (especially at 6k) is very not good.

sorry for the late reply , I couldn't get in the damn sub forum, apparently there are billions of people with problems on rx-8 at the same time

I did plug the holes where the vfad was hooked to with some cheap dumb plugs from home depot, The maf is hooked up the way its supposed to be, however I did not reset the ecu, there are no cel lights that came up on my car

and yea, I think i fucked up on something with the install, the wire that the vfad was originally connected to is still plugged in

really,

you managed to get to many other threads before this one.. and i think this might be the one you are most interested in... silly my car running good.. where are my prioritys....

the first thing i would do is unplug the batt.. let it sit for a min or two... step on the brake.

then try again.. it will take several drive cycles to settle down.. and really if you have the kn v2 and it did not fit.

you are more likely to blame... or it could be server to busy..

really if this does not help. send me a pm and i will walk you through it...

beers

thanks man, and yea, I'm not lying, I couldn't get into this subforum, thats why I said apparently there are billions of people having problems with their 8

I did a clean install though, I'll take pics tmr morning and post them,
I'll also reset the ecu tmr, although I don't know how that can possibly affect anything,

I might actually even just reinstall the damn thing since I need to install new pulley belts anyways

I'm no help, but I did just want to say that I had the same problem last night. Server too busy error over and over, I eventually got sick of trying to read posts and went and read a book. The board was running like crap on 8/21

hey swoop, thanks man, it turned out that it was my pulleys, I reinstalled the stock ones and my car is fine now, although, I lost the bolt thats supposed to hold the alternator in place, so I had to use one of the bolts from the strut bar to compensate, that is probably why my car was rattling, I also reset the ecu, just incase

thank you guys so much man
