rx8 turns off!!!

hEY FELLOW RX8ERS, iTS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I LAST POSTED. I BEEN OUT OF COUNTRY. I HAVE AN ISSUE, MY RX8 TURNS OFF WHEN I DRIVE IT FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME IN THESE SUMMER DAYS. IT SHUTS ITS SELF OFF WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMP IS ABOVE 95F FOR ABOUT 5 TO 8 MIN , THEN IT STARTS BACK UP. IT HAPPENED FRIDAY AND TODAY ON THE FREEWAY. I HAVE TO PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND HAVE TRAFIC GO AROUND ME. THEN AFTER 5 TO 8 MINUTES LATER IT WILL TURN ON AND THE ENGINE LIGHT DOES NEVER GO ON!! I HATE THIS HAPPENING, IT COULD HAPPEN ANYWHERE!! WHEN ITS HOT AND i dont even have to be in traffic.

I know the car keeps its self from over heating but this is too much!! I am sure someone else know what I am talking about. Please help

When I saw the title I thought the post would have included something like "back hair"

I agree with abbid - go to another dealership. I live in Arizona and have driven for well over an hour in traffic when its 112+ outside and have had no issues. 95 shouldn't be a big deal.

Good luck

I think it's because your 8 is jealous of how much you like your caps lock key.

the dealer said, I would have to wait till it starts happenig more frequent. They tell me since I'm our of warrenty that I would have to pay $85 and to leave it for a day or so and they still might not find the problem sinse their is no ingine light indecating any problem. Like I said It happens when I dirve for a long period of time in 96F weather or higher, it shuts its self off for 5 to 8 minutes, it cranks put wont click over, then it turns on when it cools down a little.

97º on the Jersey turnpike—and mine has never done that either. Runs perfectly, every time. Cold, hot, whatever, it always runs like a charm. Having only 3 major moving parts—instead of a thousand—has its advantages!
