Just looking for some input on this as I can't get into FAQ for some reason right now.

I do not have the spare tire kit (nor will I be getting one for the price). I'm about to buy winter tires/wheels and my plan was to leave a stock tire/wheel in my trunk for use as a spare if needed. I'm thinking the stock 18" must fit in the trunk, but I wanted to know how easily does it fit?

Although I do carry 2 plug kits with me, I need to be careful as I have to cruise 45 miles each way from home to work & back again. I'm not too worried about the added weight in the trunk as it may actually aid with winter traction.

Anybody else do this?

 

one will fit in there just fine, won't have room for too much else though

 

Just be persistent and keep looking on this site in the for sale section. You should be able to find a kit for roughly half what you would pay at the dealer. Ive seen them as low as $150 on this site.

 

My car came w/ the spare kit.

I took the spare out as I need the trunk space. .... dunno if I'll ever put it back in.
