How much does it cost to install and paint a kit?

I've been wondering how much does it cost and install a kit since I'm looking into buying a Mazdaspeed and installing it myself or buying a kit and bringing it to a shop to install and paint. I haven't looked into installing a kit since my rice days with the Eclipse. TIa!

There's no real answer to that. You'll get estimates all over the map.

What you want to do is ask about quality shops in your area (go the the regional boards) and then get quotes from them.

and the MS kit looks awesome on the 8!

if its an authentic mazdaspeed kit you can install it in your driveway, if its a reproduced version it can be anywhere from 500 to 2000 bucks.

yea, there is no way a bodyshop should charge 1000 for the full install on the authentic. if that's an estimate, and they stick with that after installing it, then they woulda made some very easy money. lol

the front is cake work and truly bolt on...the rear required cutting the oem bumper and the sides require putting holes in the body......otherwise its a perfect fit / bolt on affair.....no need to paint it.....but i can do a full kit with all the cutting / drilling in my driveway in 3-4 hours....you do the math on a high average of $75-100 an hour any shop will charge

Aight. Lemme be more specific on the kit. How much do you think it cost to install a Veilside lip kit? Because if the kit cost 1000 and the kit install cost 2000 then I might as well but a Mazdaspeed. Thanks YO!

Painting is what's gonna cost you the most money. I had Shine's autobahn replica front bumper, MS sides, rear aero flares, and OEM spoiler all installed for $900 at Pro-Spec in Quincy. They repainted the hood and fender flares so that it would match the bumper when it was painted. I also had to have the OEM spoiler repainted because I bought it brand new from someone here for $50, but it was yellow. They said they pretty much installed the sides, rear, and trunk spoiler for free and just charged me for the labor and paint on the front bumper.

Sweet. Do you mean ProSpec itself or the shop that is down the street on Water Street with Albert and them? Because I live 5 minutes away from there.

Do you have to buy a kit from ProSpec to get that price? Because I bought a couple of low quality kits from them before. I'll give them a call Monday. Thanks Cross
