but i have a 2003 model .. where does that count ?

maddy... the first models for rx8s are 2004s... but the rx8s started rolling out in 2003, so you might have a 2004 model rx8, but built in year 2003.. hope that makes sense

 

Yep.....even though your was built in 2003 (so was mine), it was introduced as a 2004 model. Aftermarket parts for 2004's are designed for your car.

The American way is to call these 2003 model cars a 2004 model

Despite 60,100 RX-8's produced in 2003 with probably half those sales in the USA most AMericans live in ignorant blis about the real world outside their borders..

Personally I think most people in general are ignorant, myself included. I just try hard to keep it from getting worse.

If it was an American marketed car the 10th digit of the VIN is always a year indicator. From 01+ the number is the year of the model.
