What's up with all the highway accidents lately. I couldn't even drive my friend home after our vball game last night cuz the 401 westbound was still closed at 11pm (according to the radio). I went on the DVP and it was backed up as soon as I entered it. So I got off at the first exit and just dropped off my friend at the subway. And now I read about how the 400 southbound is down to 1 lane cuz of another accident.

Is it just more media coverage or are people forgetting how to drive? Seems like there's at least one accident a week that causes lane closures on the major highways

I've given up on people when it comes to driving! Especially around the Markham area and now on the 401!!
The construction has become unbearable and the idiots who seem to get their licenses from a cracker jack box make things worse.
Nobody has their mirrors set correctly and nobody tends to look further than their own hood!

I only drive the 3 into work now because I'm afraid what some idiot will do on the road, or if the construction begins to tear up the road for no apparent reason!

 

Yep, between all the psycho road ragers and idiots who can't drive, driving in Toronto is really starting to become painful. I've always loved driving, owning fast cars and slugging it out on the DVP with a stick shift, but even I am starting to get a little wary of driving here. One thing is for sure, I will never ever own another convertible as long as I live in the GTA. It's getting too dangerous out there.

Once in a while I entertain the idea of buying an off-fleet police crusier to use as a beater. Crash bar, CB antenna on the trunk. That should scare all the idiots around me into compliance.

Tell me about it driving around the hill is pretty bad too we got a lot of peeps here that think they can drive but should be on canada's worst drivers. Just trying to make it out of my neighbourhood can be an adventure......Its like you need spidey sense now to drive

some idiot pick up driving in in wrong direction in front of me.... so i have to slow down and wait for him ( just in case he do somthig stupid )to do a U-TURN, afterthat i just speed up and get away from him as far as i could ...
