I just ordered a set of Rays lug nuts from Optionimports.com

I searched & didnt find much, but wondering if anyone else has these & what their verdict is?

 

you can't go wrong with ray's engineering.

 

Thats what I was thinking, hopefully they go well with the new Volks!

They're super light and the way the lock lug works is pretty cool; its asymmetrical so the normal way to defeat a lock lug probably won't work.

 

mcgard spline lug nuts is what I use on my rays gram light rims. they're extremely lightweight, feel almost like they're made from plastic.

they're 2 piece - so the part that sits against your rims doesn't spin and grind into the wheel. Better yet, this means it's very easy to take on and off your rims, with much less effort required.

they're about $80 a set from what I recall, with the removal tool.

 

they're anodized aluminum. so don't go using an impact wrench on them!! always tighten and loosen them by hand.

yes they are very light.

 

Duraluminum I think is what they call it. Seriously, everytime I tighten them, I feel like they're going to crack, that's how light they feel.

 

I have them and weighed them...sorry to say they're not much lighter than stock...just 1 ounce per wheel.

It's true that you shouldn't use an impact wrench on them...it just messes them up...ask me how I know.

Oh and you'll have to carry a different tire iron (I think it's called) as they're 19mm instead of the factory 21mm.
