Angry Dent on rear panel...need help!!

This dent was completely my fault, which just makes me sick to my stomach! I had my ladder standing up in my garage, and it fell on the car. Yes, I know, it should be laying on its side and not standing up. Anyhow, I'm curious on how much my mistake will cost me. Do you guys think it can be bumped out, or does the whole rear panel need to be replaced??

Thanks,

Techsan

haha i just posted up a thread that i had recieved a dent too. But mine was due to vandolism. I am more than sure you can buff that out. Have your insurance pay for it. Deductable shouldnt be more than $100. Just say it was vandolized. I mean its not like they cant prove it. I mean thats what i would do in your situation and short on cash. Like mine, it was in fact vandolized, I will post up picks later tonight. My thread is in the West forums, "Can you say Haters?"

I'm not quite sure that the dent can be buffed out. Its not just a scratch. Dude, that totally sucks that someone f'd up your car. I don't know why people can't just respect another's property. I'm not sure if I would be more pissed with vandalism or something that you did yourself. Either way, it blows.

looking at the picture it seems like most of the dent can be removed by paintless dent repair.i say this because i hit the drivers side of my door and the guy got out 99.9%of the dent and you can't tell anything happened after i buffed it out.it really sucks when you do it yourself.can't really blame anyone but it could have been that damm pricey windshield!

Try a heat gun and cold CO2 from an air can.

anywhere from $30.00 to $75.00 depending on which company you use.most will give you a break if they do not need to go into real tight places.

Working for an insurance company I can tell you that this thread is proof enough.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that insurance fraud is not the way to go. I'd rather not go to jail.

had a dent in almost hte exact same location on my 8. Came out to the parking lot and saw the dent in my car, mad me sad/angry.
Painless dent removal did an awesome job, cant even tell it was ever there. Pretty sure cost was less than $100. Although, mine was a circular dent, since yours is elongated, it might cost more.

Thanks for all the input guys...much appreciated! I think I'll bring it by a few places for estimates. I can't see driving around like that...it drives me nuts! I seriously hate myself right now!

I just had a similar bonehead incident with mine. I forgot my friend was parked behind me and backed right into him. I had more damage than you, and my auto shop is going to be be able to repair it without having to replace it.

Do whatever you can not to replace it - because the panel goes across the whole roof, they'll need to paint half the car to make it like it never happened.

I, like you, hate myself and can't stand driving it around the way it is. Thank god it's going in Monday!
