So I bought a used 04 RX8 in February with about 45,000kms. Since then I have put on 25,000 kms on almost all highway driving and have lately noticed a small issue with poor idle, and running quite rough. Also had problems with grinding gears when going into 4th or 5th. Dropped the car off at Mazda this morning and just got the call stating they were looking at the possibility of a complete motor replacement as well as transmission rebuild. I will update when I know for sure.

Can't say I am too upset. I knew what I was getting into when I bought the car, and I know I followed everything to a T for maintenance, but I dont know whether the previous owner did. I bought the vehicle off a Mazda used lot so I expected they would have done their own checks. All in all the dealer has been quite helpful. Just no rental lol.
