Feelings towards a painted Carbon Fiber hood...

I just put in my Seibon KS hood and I think it looks good. But the longer I look at it, the more I feel like painting it Titanium like the rest of the car. I don't care if the hood is CF or not, but I do like the styling of the hood.

What are people's opinions on painting a CF hood? Has anyone done so and how does it look?

Why have a CF hood if you are going to paint it?

Not of fan of them either way. Left black, they look like you had an accident and can't afford the bodywork. Painted, they look dull without major paint prep.

i think painting it is a good idea, but paint only the top, leave the underside unpainted so when you pop the hood ppl see the CF

btw, id also recommend changing the front lip or the side skirts. the lip is way aggressive and the skirts are very subtle.

i've seen some painted that look good, it depends on how the carbon hood was constructed in the beginning, i say paint it.

if there is any damage in the cf, yea i would paint it. heck, i wouldn't put cf on my car w/o paint, but that's just me. it can be left cf and still be very tasteful. if you feel like the cf look is wearing out for you, then go ahead and paint it.

I bought it because of the style...not because it was CF. I like this style over the stock hood, which I think looks lame. I have given a lot of consideration for painting over the CF. I just didn't know if people actually do it.

I know a lot of people are not a fan of my front end and my sideskirts...but I like them :P

Yes, paint the hood. I guess go to the place that knows what they're doing, so they can tell you whether it will match or not.

I don't like the look of unpainted CF hoods.

Carbon fiber hood

Our hood is already very lightweight aluminum. The carbon fiber hood is there to make a visual statement, so why paint it.

That's what I was thinking,,,but if it has bad clear coat, paint it. Or put new clear coat on.

But CF looks cool.

Mikeb has his painted VR to match.
I'm not a fan of the CF look so if I ever did get one on my BB, it would absolutely paint it.

I only think CF looks good on a black car.

Love the Avatar 4me2. I played that game a zillion times.
