I have been looking through exotic sports car illustrations for the cars that inspired the RX design and I found this on a website . It's 5 years old. What looks like it today especially in the last picture of the rear of the car?

Here's another. Add a top, 4 seats and different healights and hmm.

According to magazines this car was one that inspired the RX fenders. There is also a concept car by Ferrari on this site that is a four seater!

It's a hard argument you guys are trying for... car design is a lot like engineering design in cars i think in that innovations are instantly reverse-engineered or "influenced" into newer designs. Things don't stay unique for very long. In addition, the two likely demographics are entirely different for the cars you're talking about.

More importantly, however, is that the RX-8 is not immune to this nor is it unique... think TT. Not saying i'm not OK with it... its just that this type of thing is fairly normal

 

Man, that looks just like that new Volkswagon SUV. What do they call it....Toureg or something like that. Crazy!!!!!

 

I am not making an argument but rather just a statement. I know that most cars today are inspired from those of the past and the RX 8 yamguchi book informs the the reader that the RX is designed after different cars per se. I've read about the copied lines of the Pininifarinia and the Ferrari for the RX. I was just floored though when I saw the rear view of the Buggatti and how closely it looked like the Nissan Z. WOW!
