New Seibon Stuff?

*NOTE* Sorry if you were exspecting pictures...

Hay guys... Ive been looking at the Seibon Web Page and also have called Seibon in regards some New items for the RX8.

AE-style carbon fiber front lip for 2004-2005 Mazda RX-8
AE-style carbon fiber rear lip for 2004-2005 Mazda RX-8
AE-style carbon fiber side skirts for 2004-2005 Mazda RX-8
AE-style carbon fiber rear spoiler for 2004-2005 Mazda RX-8
TS-style carbon fiber hood for 2004-2005 Mazda RX-8
TT-style carbon fiber hood for 2004-2006 Mazda RX-8

Ive been looking for pictures of what this new stuff will look like. I have checked the web page everyday and no updates. I have also called them and get the same thing "Oh next week we will post pictures of them." (ive been calling every week for the past 3 weeks) Nothing yet. Does anybody know what this kit will look like. My guess it will look like the KS Auto's Burnout kit. But that is just my guess. Also what What will the spoiler and hoods look like? If anybody has any info on this please let us know..

I love that hood too! Has anyone with this hood (or any other vented hood for that matter) seen a noticable coolant temperature difference on their gauges.

Yea I do notice better temps with the vented hood... Its a little heavier than the stock hood but it cools better... Also, I have noticed better cooling if you take out all the parts of the stock air box. I have a AEM CAI and left the bottom part of the stock air box there. I took it out and things seem to cool better. I don't have exact numbers but When I drive hard or do a track day my temps are not as high as when I had the Bottom part left in.

CF heavier then OEM? That doesn't sound right...

sooo tempted to get those RB guages but I think I'd go digital with them.

yes, carbonfiber hoods are heavier than OEM. that's why it's purely asthetics, unless you open the vents to vent the engine.

Mine aren't the sportcomps that come with the racing beat pod. They're Autometer Nexus. I thought about getting all digital, but i like the datalogging capability of these.

I thought the whole point of CF was for lower weight. The aesthetics were just a bonus.

CF is usually lighter than MOST hoods, but the RX8 has an aluminum one.

That makes sense, and here I was thinking of buying a CF hood.

For 1 or 2 pounds, I'd rather have better cooling.

Correct. They are only lighter on some vehicles. The RX8 uses a very light Aluminum hood that is lighter than CF ones. I think better cooling is worth more than 1-2 lbs. of extra weight.

Yeah, most of the cf hoods out there are wet / hand-laid products, they are lighter when it comes to Civic's, but RX-8's alunimun hood.

WreakLoosE, nice 8 u got; love the wheels, too.
