hi every1 im gonna change the rotors, is it the more drill and slot the better ??? or it is useless to change the rotors? how much around to install it (4 rotors) or i can do it by self? thanks a lot

ohh also i wanna get the brake calipers paints, u guys kno which brand is better? and do i need to take the calipers out to paint it? can i do it by self too? cuz im afraid i wil break it...>_<

at last for the paint, wut color u think will look better on my grey rx8? im thinkin red... (mine has the stock 18" rims)

slotted is better than stock, under hash conditions drilled rotors can crack.

the stock rotors are very good, and unless you tracking the car, dont even bother to get rotors, unless you like the look.

 

i like the look. lol

 

i dont like drilled rotors.

if you want good stuff i highly recommend RacingBrake's 2 piece curved open-slotted rotors.

 

Cross Drilled Rotors save weight, and some claim they work better in the rain. Slotted rotors allow gasses an avenue of escape.

2pc floating rotors generally reduce the weight of the rotor.

As rotors are "unsprung" reducing the weight can have a greater performance quotient than simply "stopping better".

Cross drilled rotors don't all crack. Mostly the OEM rotors with holes drilled through them that some people sold caused stress to the rotor resulting in "cracking".

Really, do a search on this forum or on google and if you are still interested in doing this upgrade choose a reputable company such as Racing Brake or others instead of the cheapest ebay part you can find and you shouldn't have any problems.

 

dont forget rotors are also rotating weight. dropping this sort of weight allowing the car to accelerate more quickly as well
