e-management fixes misfire code???

I have an 04 6spd 51k miles

I installed the RP Midpipe, Mazdaspeed intake and the AP underdrive pulley.
I got a 2nd cylinder misfire I thought it may have been from the pulley since it was the last thing i installed, so i took it out and re-installed it. I then got a random misfire and cylinder 1 misfire code.

i put everything back to stock went to mazda they said they would have to replace my plugs coils and wires and see if that helps (786.00) if not then they will proceed with their process of elimination.

I ordered and installed a new set of plugs, racing beat wires and installed new coils from the dealer..same problem..

I did the brake pedal thing to reset and erased the CEL and after 20 mins its back..
I'm thinking smaller pulley different timing..
Question...if i get a e-management system installed will that reconfigure my timing? and get rid of the CEL and misfire codes?

if you put in a mid pipe and not a hi flow cat, well that is the cel...

as to the pulley.. pull the bat cable, then step on the brake.. attach the cable, do the 20 tap thing..

now you are ready..

I didnt think it would have been the midpipe because i had installed that a few months about without a CEL the i moved to the next item..the ms intake..with no CEL i moved on to doing the RB wires and plugs finally the pulley...its wasnt until i did the pulley i got the CEL..thats way i figured that was the problem...I spoke with cam yesterday and he advised to check the wires..so I'm doing that today ( my day off) and keeping my fingers crossed...thanx for the response..

With Midpipe, theres always a chance that you will get a CEL.

remember, car computers aint as dumb as you think. they continuously monitor your system for errors, if it sees something wrong. there you go your CEL.

Some engine checks are periodic. Also, the ECU can't actually check for a cat. What it does is monitor the downstream O2 sensor and look for things that would indicate a cat failure. It probably doesn't check during the engine warm up period. A well tuned rotary could conceivably produce legal emissions according to the ECU without a cat. When it finally catches a period of bad emissions, your CEL goes on.

The pipes likely have nothing to do with the missfire. You may have conveniently burnt a coil or something at roughly the same time the pulley went in.

I installed the RP supercat midpipe in september of last year and never got a cel for it...

Turns out i had one too many installs/upgrades at the same time..turns out after yet another process of elimination the RB racing wires were at fault for my CEL misfire code..I put the complete set of stock wires in and no more misfire..
