What's the best wheel / tire combination to use on the street.

Keep in mind ride quality, handling characteristics and looks are a factor.....

Although... 19 inch Advan 5's with Kumho MX's or Toyo T1R's would be pretty badass.

100 spokes with 60 series whitewalls. Superior ride quality and fantastic looks!

They say there's no such thing as a dumb question - but I think we've found our exception!

another example of why I suggested that newbies be members for awhile before they are "allowed" to post. I'll allow newbies one get out of jail free card. They should pm a moderator to have their post removed, and then try again, maybe after a month of checking out the forum.

I like to use metal wheels and rubber tires for the street.

I think the grilling is because your question was vague...kinda like asking "what's the best pizza topping?"

My suggestion...look through the "Calling all _ _ _ _ _" threads. There are a couple already. This may help you find a style or purpose, and may answer your question.

Okay I'll let you off this time. The truth really is there is no best. What do you mean by best? Style? That's personal taste. Performance? If you mean that do you mean pure lightness, strength, or some blend of both? Are you looking for maximum grip or something that will grip on rough roads? Are you going to be driving on 100% dry roads, through an occasional rainstorm, through mostly rain, or is this supposed to last four seasons with snow involved? Every one of those scenarios have a different answer for what is close to ideal. And finally, there is no best because you can always get something better by spending more. I can get custom carbon fiber wheels that are way light, but they'll cost more than my car. See the issue here? Your original request wanted looks, ride quality, AND performance. There is no free lunch here, no unobtainium wheel that looks great to everyone, is feather light, and is free and certainly no tire that rides great, grips great, offers amazing feedback, and wears well. You have to state your preference and especially your budget better.

Hey dont be mad, just cause they are the best looking wheels on the RX8.

but yeah, I personally wish they were a little less popular of a choice for the RX-8.
