Hey one of my friends has an rx8. Recently he checked his air filter and found black on his filter. Now i took of the air box and found oil in the tubing that follows right after the box. What could have caused this?

using the advance option I did a titles only search for 'oil+intake"

 

sum it up (from what I know)
1- in putting oil in your engine make sure that the oil doesnt back up in the filler pipe(pouring too fast) as that can cause the oil to run down the little vacumn tube to your intake--use a oil funnel with a long neck and pour slowly.
2- from the engine itself---some use catchcans--i just use a downdraft tube.
