Thumbs up Valentine V1

Any one have the V1, if you don't I strongly recomend you get it. The price may be a little steep @ $399 but you can send it in and get it upgraded at anytime. It has saved me some expensive tickets if not reckless driving tickets.

wait, you can send it in for life and get the latest moels for free???? I have been thinking about this one or the new escort? Is a very good radar even worth the price, because I have heard thousands of "it doesn't work." So i guess my main question is, will it save me from most tix, besides the ones where you aere just a comlpete moron, and deserve it? I haven't gotten a ticket yet (17 Year old), but I don't want to take any chances

I've had one for over 12 years now. Love it. The "arrows" are really useful once you learn how to use 'em. Valentine upgrades the innards a little every few years—you can send it in for the latest upgrade for around $75, as I recall.

someone queue up RaDaRkInG . That guy must be a Valentine Sales rep because all he does is troll the forums talking about the V1

- On a side note: The V1 is an awesome radar detector, I just think it's too sensitive. It is great for spotting cops 2 miles out though...

Well, I've been searching for some info on experiences i've been having. I live in MA and lately I've been noticing a lot of cops standing outside their cars aiming and shooting some sort of gun at cars passing by on highways. Problem is my V1 isn't detecting whatever they are shooting. I know laser has a narrow scattering field so its hard to pick up, but i'm worried its something different. I went to check on if my unit needs an upgrade, and it does, but only for PoP radar, which they say is mainly used only in Europe. Anyone having the same experience?

You're correct. Most likely they are using laser and you won't pick it up unless they're aiming at your car. By then it's too late.

not necessairly true.... Depending on your Radar Detector, you could / should be able to detect the officer aiming the laser at other cars.
